Obesity

Obesity

Obesity is a disease that involves an excessive amount of body fat.
It isn't just being overweight but it's a medical problem in which it increases the risk of health problems and other chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, joint pain and diabetes.

But how?

1. Cardiovascular disease

- People with obesity requires more blood to supply oxygen and nutrients to their bodies which causes an increase in blood pressure. The body will also require more pressure to move this blood around. It then lead to high blood pressure and they might also get heart attack.

2. Cancer

- Obesity might as well increase the risk of cancer such as uterus cancer, cervix cancer and breast cancer.

3. Joint pain

- Obesity raises the stress placed on weight-bearing joints, which promotes inflammation within the body. These factors may lead to complications such as osteoarthritis, which occurs most frequently in the hands, hips, and knees. This will cause the cartilage within a joint begins to break down and the underlying bone begins to change.

4. Diabetes

- Obesity can affect the way the body uses insulin to control blood sugar levels. This increases the risk of insulin resistance and contributes to diabetes.
